Community Advice on Starting Over
When I first shared online about the struggle of starting over on a quilt, some real pieces of wisdom were shared with me, and I’d like to pass them along to you know, for the next time you’re stuck in the middle of at a project:
When this happens to me I find I have to talk just a little more to the fabric. Kind of tell it what you are thinking and step away for a day or two. You will hear the direction from it. It’s not quite a mistake, more of a misdirection. (@handstiche)
I went to a service for an artist one week before (yes before) he died. He spoke. He said Art is a lot of work. (@wolcott425)
It's hard not to think about all the work you could be doing whilst you are going backwards. I'm trying to not think so linearly and realize I'm not going forward or backwards. … Every stitch you rip makes you better at sewing/quilting. It teaches you how not to do something or with me, to pay more attention. Creating is a messy game and not for the faint of heart! (@metz_matteo)
