How do I fold a burial quilt?
Wrapping a body in a quilt can either be done by the funeral home or by loved ones preparing the body. Essentially the quilt is laid out on a table, bottom-side up. The body is placed on the diagonal of the burial quilt. The corners at the head and the feet are folded in towards the heart. One side of the burial quilt is wrapped around the body and tucked underneath. The other side is then wrapped around and tucked underneath. Finally, the wrapped burial quilt is secured by three fabric ties (provided with the burial quilt). The body is placed on a board, then on a carrier (available upon request) to be carried to the grave.
